President and CEO
Having been an entrepreneur for the last 25 years, Derek understands the excitement, drive, opportunities and challenges of owning your own business. Advising and supporting clients from small boutique shops to S&P 500 companies, Derek brings a unique skill set. Having served in several C-level roles to include CIO and CFO, his ability to correctly interpret executive leadership wants/needs and turn them into actionable reality makes him a highly sought after resource.
Partnering with client organizations has afforded Derek the ability to oversee the establishment and development of some of the most complex systems, processes, tools and projects all resulting in saved money, time, and effort for his client companies. Ensuring their success is a matter of personal pride for him. While expanding his own business, his high standards for delivering excellent service is the first requirement for all Moore Consulting team members. Derek, along with his executive team, ensure client satisfaction by remaining involved in project scoping and plan development all while keeping their own skills relevant through continued delivery of onsite project work.
Derek holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from the University of Illinois, a Masters Degree in Accounting and Information Management, and an MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas as well as being a Certified Management Accountant.
Karen R. Moore, MS-OHRD, SHRM-SCP

As a seasoned human resources professional, Karen partners with clients on all things people. Talent acquisition strategies, people process efficiencies, software selection and implementation, talent development, and the identification of client specific people metrics are just a few of these areas. Keeping leadership teams grounded and focused upon providing working environments that encourage open, honest and transparent communication results in reduced turnover, increased production and a reputation for doing things right. With over 25 years of progressive human resources experience Karen has spent the majority of her career in high growth, entrepreneurial environments. Focusing on the people and cultural integrations of growth through both organic and mergers and acquisitions activities, her ability to successfully navigate through these stressful waters makes her a valuable asset to organizations planning for or currently experiencing high growth. Karen holds a Bachelor’s Degree in General Studies with concentrations in Business Administration and Sociology from Texas Woman’s University and a Master Degree in Organization and Human Resources Development from Abilene Christian University as well as is a Senior Certified Professional through the Society for Human Resource Management.
